Frequently Asked Questions

Below are a few of the frequently asked questions:

  • Where does the course take place?
The training takes place at your premises, if this is not possible we can arrange a venue local to you.
  • What qualification do I get at the end?
All Health and Safety Executive (HSE) courses are regulated which means all candidates passing the course receive a certificate which will be recognised nationally. For other courses, we can produce an Oaklands Plus Ltd certificate on request.
  •  Do we need to provide any equipment?
All equipment required for the training will be provided by us, we are happy to use on site equipment such as projectors or screens but we also have our own.
  • Is their a minimum or maximum number of delegates?
There is no minimum number although due to the interactive nature of the courses a minimum of 4 is desired.  The HSE courses have a maximum limit of 12 delegates. On other courses a maximum of 16 to one instructor is normal.
  • Where do you travel to?
We currently have bases in Lymington, Hampshire and Haywards Heath, Sussex. We can travel 20 miles from either of these places.
  • Is there an age limit?
At 1st Aid 4 All, we be believe everyone should have access to first aid training and regularly train children as young as 7 or 8 years old and have trained members of the community in their 70’s and 80’s on awareness courses. There is, however, on the HSE courses, normally an lower age of 16 years old. Please see the specific course you are interested in for details.
  • What if I have a disability or medical condition?
Most courses require that participants are able to get down on the floor to perform actions such as CPR  and  putting someone in the recovery position. We are able to adapt courses to accommodate most people outside of these requirements.
  • How large does the venue have to be?
A venue must be able to accommodate the number of people being trained bearing in mind the activities being undertaken. We are happy to advise on this on a case by case basis and come out and have a look at what is available.
  • Do you provide any after course support?
We are happy to offer after care support and can offer services such as annual refresher courses (as advised by the HSE) and review of your companies  first aid provision.
  • How much notice do you need?
In short the more notice the better, but we will work with you to provide what you need when you need it.
  • How much do the courses cost?
The cost of a course depends on a number of factors such as the duration of the course, the number of people attending, if the training room is being provided and distance the trainer has to travel. If you send us an email of your basic requirements we can give you an idea of the cost.
